a pinned topic where the GOOD pics get perminently pinned, the ones on members aquarium pics, vanish after a while, it would be nice for people to look back on pics they may have posted months ago.

There are some good pics on the Index already - where I think they'd be most useful anyway.

I think i understand what he means. Like a kind of POTM but with fish pictures. Members aquarium pictures of the month competition. Might be worth a shot

I believe it's a case of "Been there, done that - never again". If it's a best fish photo competition that's in mind. Those (all but the pet section) have been closed down over the past few years on TFF - and from all the many threads asking to bring this back, the consensus has always been a clear "no".

The TOTM (Tank of the Month) and FOTM (Fish of the Month..) used to be back in the era when i first joined the forum and for some time after that. It was stopped however, due to some members copying pictures from other websites and postings photos of both tanks and fish which weren’t their own, so in the end, the decision was made to stop them altogether.

In the end of the day, what is the point of having they? There’s no one, best, tank or fish picture out there, there are plenty, so why only award one member? They're my thoughts anyway.

If you have what you consider a particularly very good photo of a fish you can do one of two things:

• post a thread on that species in the TFF Index
• supplement a TFF Index fish with your single pic. If that particular thread doesn't already have extra fish pix, most mods will approve it as an addendum post. That is a nice place to showcase your pic as it is a 'permanent' info post
