does pusing xenia require phos remover, as i have only just heard corals need it and i got xenia coming tomorrow.
i dont even know what phos remover is and where it goes.

Depends on your phosphate levels really.
You can get ROWAPHOS or phosban and they come with bags that you can put in a filter or external filter. But I dont think you have either so it might be okay to hang it in front of a powerhead.

i shoud be getting a phos kt soon
but reading on the internet, some people say it is bad for soft corals as it irritates them.

no i dont have either of them, nore a skimmer.

It is generally recommended as PO[sub]4[/sub][sup]3-[/sup] can retard Coral growth.

on the inernet tho some people say it is bad with soft corals

Whoa hold on Fishy, stop worrying, get the phosphate test kit and lets see what reading you have :good: But, you will need to run a phosphate remover at some point I suspect, so you can start planning and researching now

Phosphate removers are generally made from Iron (II) Oxide, these types of phosphate remover are fine.

Rowaphos and Phosban both use Iron (II) Oxide to my knowledge so you shouldn't have any problems with them. Aluminium Oxides wont irritate corals as they're not soluble, so are still safe to use.

Im sure you can just hang it on a power head just chill  it wont harm them just when you get your test kit and go from there.

Here's how I did it:

The internet says alot of things fishy .. doesn't mean its right :)

With many things in marine(and life in general) somebody will make a bold statement about something, somebody reads it and takes it as gospel and then it spreads like wildfire.

There are lots of false beliefs in marine fish keeping.

if i did need it would the way MrLiam suggest work?
