Philander Fish?

i went to my lfs today and see some philander fish.they were in a tank with guppys.
i cant seem to find out much about them.

i take it there not aggressive to be in a tank with guppys

anyone own them??

i dont know much about them except they are more commonly known a the Southern mouthbrooder - you may find more info looking up that name

Wouldn't say your guppies would survive long though...

just to clarify i dont have any philanders or guppys. i see them at me lfs and they were there in a tank with guppys.i just wanted some info on them.

Ah I see! My fault for not reading properly

Fish stores are strange places, stuff is packed in so close together in tanks, no territory can be formed, and everything seems to 'get along'

That look s an interesting species, which inhabits rivers as well as Lake Malawi... One to google later and see if it could possibly be my second cichlid pair with some Steatocranus cichlids!
