Can the betta rest in the water sprite?

Yes, same as with any floating plants; they like the cover and shade, and browse the dangling root masses for natural food.

Do you have a picture of one? Also, is Java fern a good choice? It’s so weird, at my LFS, a small Java Fern plant, cost $2.99, but..........a small Anubis plant cost $9.99! Is this a normal price?

Thanks @Deanasue! I will definitely get some plants, when I go to my LFS next. Also, I think I am going to remove the “dome” moss. It has this weird white “blanket” over it. (Mold?). I think I will try another kind of moss.

P.S., how do I clean lava rock for aquarium use? I hear it is really good for attaching Java Fern (via fishing line) and the plant grows really good on it. Thanks!

P.P.S, how tall do Java Fern get? (Approximately) and do they need liquid fert.?

Ok, so the moss.......is looking HORRIBLE!! It has this white film over it, and it just looks disgusting! I am going to remove it today. @Colin_T, will you please try to answer my questions I has above ^? Thank you!

Just Googled it and Java Fern grows to about 14”. Google is a great tool! You can look on You Tube for how to clean lava rock. They have some great videos on it. Good luck!

I just added the Lava Rock into the tank, and took that disgusting moss out. Here is a picture.

Lol, as soon as I put it in the tank, he came right over and started “sniffing” it!

Hey guys! I added the “wild” tiger wood (I think) driftwood today!

He loves resting on it, because it is very close to the surface. What if you guys think?

Note: the water seems murky, only because the front piece of acrylic, has a thin layer of algae on it. (Should I scrape it off).

Ookkk......guys! So I did a 50% water change/ gravel vacuum yesterday, and all appears to be doing well. There is only 1 problem.

I put the panty hose of the filter intake, so my bettas fin won’t get ripped. But.....the filter will not run properly, if the filter cartridge is in the filter!? So you guys know what this is? Thanks!
