Good morning guys,
Just need a bit of advice on our phantom tetra, we were told that you should never have more males than females as the males can get quite aggressive and harass the females but that without any females you wouldn’t see the male color changes. We opted for two males and two females in the end. However...im fairly sure our LFS has given us three males and one female! The males are sparing like mad and the female spends most of the time hiding behind a rock and the weed at the back of the tank. I really like them so I would just go and get another couple of females as I know they like to shoal but I am one of those that didn’t fully understand cycling when you get your first tank (about 6-7 weeks ago now). I have followed a lot of advice on here and all the water levels are fine and have been for a while (I test using the API Master Test Kit) and I do regular water changes (about twice a week now) but still feel rather reluctant to get any more fish just yet. If I wait say another 3-4 weeks will the female be ok?
Thanks
Steph
