Ph Test

i have just filled up my tank with live sand. and salt-wateer. ive got the filtration system and the heater running.

ive tested the ph of the water and its showing @ 8.2. is this good ? the book that came with the test kit says i need between 8.2-8.4 is this right ??

8.2 is a good PH for a reef, you can expect some fluctuations in that while your tank is cycling and maturing though so dont panic if it drops, and dont use chems to correct it.

Actually pH is a pretty "easy" measure and most test kits represent it accurately. The strips aren't the most accurate things under the sun, but just about any liquid kit will work
