The SPRING water that I use in my 36 gallon fish tank is around 7.2 - 7.4.  I now have a 75 gallon tank that I now fill at the tap. As moving that much spring water 5 gallons at a time is to much... The tap water PH is 8.4.  Does anyone have a fish tank and also uses water that has a PH of 8.4?  I am going to put  Silver Dollars in this 75 gallon tank.
THANX

I have 22 tanks running and over 500 gallons.  My tap water is 8.0 to 8.3 depending on the time of year.  I rarely ever use plain (treated) tap water to top off tanks much less fill them.

What do you have in the 75 gallon, if anything, and what is your goal?

Nothing right now... But I am setting it up for 5 Silver dollars... That's 8.4PH right out of the city tap.  I have treated the water with 75ml API PH-DOWN... Now the PH level in the 75 gallon tank is about 7.4 which is the PH level of the 36 gallon tank they are in right now and have trived there. The water in the 36 gallon tank comes from a spring but it is to hard to haul 75 gallons in 5 gallon buckets...  It's a chore enough just doing 36 gallon by hand...
THANX
