Ph Down?

Thanks. It's under control now, at 7.3. I got a female krib today, and she is doing great! I will be getting a male in a couple weeks.

Filter with some peat if you really want to nudge it down. I've kept GBR at similar PH without issues.

Sorry, what is GBR? I am not at all good w/ abbreviations. lol Did they breed in that ph? Because I heard that krib and dwarf cichlid eggs won't hatch in ph over 7.2....?

And where would I get peat?

Haha! Thanks! As you can tell, I'm not the brightest bulb on the planet. ;)

krib eggs do hatch over 7.2 ph, neutral ph is preferred, because if you have higher ph you have more male/female babies (i forget which way it goes) and lower than 7 gives you more of the other gender. my kribs bred at 7.5 ph and i have 9 babies living, i think that good for not even knowing they were born till they were in the last stages of wiggling.

I had kribs breed in my 7.8 pH water last year. I think they are very flexible fish as far as the water is concerned. They need good clean water but are not too fussy about the water parameters such as hardness and pH in my experience.
