5 days into a fishless cycle that I added some cycled water to from another tank. Results are :

Ph 7.2
Ammonia 1.0
Nitrite 5.0
Nitrate 0-5

Should I raise my Ph a little or is 7.2 adequate. Read where some guys recommend bicarb. What is bicarb ? And where do I get it ? Also would a water change at this point hurt anything ? Is a planted 9 gallon at 82 degrees.

Thanks alot

Bicarb is bicarbonate of soda. You'll find it in the baking aisle of most supermarkets.

I have cycled all five of my tanks at my normal ph 6.5 I added bi carb to the last and made little to no diff for me. I read the optimum oh is approx 8 so at 7.2 I would just leave it alone IMO
