Petting Bettas

I can put my hand in my juvie tank and they'll all crowd around to check me out and swim through my fingers

I'm just joking around but this person does drink beer and smoke all the time and only has a job at a dry cleaner.

Oh yeah, heaven forbid someone work at a dry cleaner. Last I heard, that counted as a job.

A few of my bettas will let me pet them once in awhile. They don't show any sign of being stressed out by it or being unhealthy, in fact they look forward to the attention, they always get excited when someone walks into the room.

Hello. I'm new to your board but not Bettas. Was lead to this board through someone selling on Aquabid.

Many breeders in Thailand use their hands to dip their fish out of tanks, etc. I think we all know we need to make sure we've thoroughly cleaned our hands even before we feed our fish; but other than that there isn't a problem really with touching them. I can pick up most of mine with my hands and actually it's better for them than the net.

Anyway, that's my opinion.

This looks like a nice place.

Its not uncommon for Bettas to let you pet them.

Ive had a few that will come over once they see you looking in the tank.

My first and favorite Betta let me pet him all the time and often would flare and show off when he saw you looking in the tank.
