Dont want to knock all staff that work at Pets at Home , but as i was buying some flake food today i couldnt help but over hear a conversation between a member of staff and a young lady asking for some advice.
To keep it short , she was asking how many Guppies he thought she should buy as she liked how they fluttered in the water.(her words).
He asked the run of the mill questions, how big is your tank ? how long have you had it ? how many fish are in it ?
She replied that it was her husbands tank and she gestured with her hands held out a rough size of the tank . "about this big". Then she went on to say " I think theres about 12 fish in it but they only small"
"OK" he says "well in my opinion i think you should by 4 males and 2 females as you have to keep these at a 2-1 ratio".
(yes thats what he said ) Then he gave a chewing gum smile and stroked his fingers through his hair saying "you know wo a mean".
At this point the young ladies phone rang out Justin Beeber at 200 deci bells and she answered it and walked off.
Lucky escape Guppies
Come on Pets at Home train your staff or change procedure please before letting them loose on the public.
