I don't know what could have given you that idea  , But yeah I have a few pets, and I didn't even add the odd foster animal like Eastern Grey Kangaroos or Tawny Frogmouths. Those who know me claim I have a zoo, I say it's just a small select collection of non-human friends :D .

I think its awesome. Very stunning bird collection. What do you do when it gets cold out?

Luckily it doesn't get cold here for long and the birds live year round in the avairy, if anything it's the heat that can kill the birds (and shrimp :grr: ). I forgot to add the Talipocoti doves and king quail and Red stars and Rosa Burkes and St Helena finches :hyper: , beats me how I forgot all of them  .
You will also be able to notice the picture of dogs in front of the avairy is the same avairy all the birds are in.

It is very lovely. I live in an apartment, so apart from my two cats and my fish, I can't have too many other animals.

But I bet you love them just as dearly as anyone else who has pets, and get the same devotion and love back from them. Heaps or only one it doesn't matter.

:shifty: Besides it's cheaper only having a couple, just don't let my husbnad see that or he'll shout its proof I can't bring anything else home  .

lol i wish I could have a zoo in my backyard! That would be loads of fun! You foster kangaroos? :grr: :hey: You lucky duck! I'd watch your house if I were you. :shifty:

My work mate is still very keen to come over one day and see your zoo. You better put pix up of your orchid house, massive fish pond and the other birds. And what about the frogs? I know that giant green tree frog you used to feed has gone but you have others dont you? Mum just gave me several tadpoles to put in my outside fishbowl-pond thing. You know the one. Am hoping they're native's and not cane-toad taddys. She gave me a platy as well to eat the wrigglers. You can't post me some spare guppys can you?

Kangaroos, bettongs ( ), possoms, echidnas and many many native birds have all been through my house at some point. Shame I can't claim my resident green tree frogs as being pets as they are beautiful and always on the back patio in the evenings.

If I can catch up with you on Sunday I'll try to bring some guppies down, male and female ? or just male. The orchid house is not yet complete so you have to wait like I do and as for the monster goldfish/comets they are hard to photograph through the waterlilies. I am betting on the tadpoles being canetoad or they could be rocket frogs if they are still hanging out in her pond.

Why can't you claim em?

Well they aren't really pets although I do hand feed them and they do go for swims in my tanks and I do make sure I don't use pesticides etc around the outside of my house....thus my house/yard is also a spider haven  .

Are they poisonous? Or just regular frogs? I'd hate to see the type of spiders you got in Australia mate.

Common old green tree frogs, graceful tree frogs, dwarf tree frogs and Roths Tree frogs, Rocket frogs, Ornate burrowing frog, Eastern Banjo frogs and possibly one I have forgotten plus dreaded canetoads. I guess I could post some pics if people want me too but I still don't class them as pets even though one of the frogs has a name.

As for spiders, they aren't too bad I just hate the wolf spiders wondering inside... at least I don't have Sydney Funnel Webs.

I've got black widows in my back yard. Ugh gives me the chills just thinking about them.
