for the past 2-3 weeks ive had a small amount of snails in my tank that ive been taking out before i have a problem,
so came from school, went to check my tank and the fish and saw a snail on the glass pull it out and notest, its not brown like i origionaly thought but gold/yellow with brown spots, its only 1mm but i put it back incase its a good snail... so is it agood snail or apest?

It just depends on whether you like it or not. People consider snails pests because they tend to multiply quickly in the aquarium and clutter it, not because they actually do any damage. If you like it, it's OK to leave it in.

i think ill leave it for now ill keep an eye on it tho quite nice as snails go i think it jsut a common pond or bladder snail (after looking at the pinned snails in th efresh water inveribrite section (sp))
oh well thanks anyways

Some snails, apple snails maybe, lay their eggs above the water line. That makes it easy to control them since you can easily see and remove them. I wouldn't mind some snails, but my wife is against it.
