Percentage For Weekly Water Change

Thank you for explaining this in more detail! Something that I now am dismayed about is that even though my filter is rated for up to 50 gallons (and my tank is 30g.), it is not turning over the recommended 10 x the water volume. It only turns over 200 gph.

Probably 50%-60% a week. My fish seem to thrive. Even my little tank. I always dose with prime declorinator too as its the best

20% a week in a 240litre tank. Any more at once starts increasing my pH ever so slightly. Suppose i could just do 2x 20% twice a week, but i dont need to, all is well in the tank.

Thats plenty. i presume you aren't having any problems? you'd only need more turnover if you overstocked or have fish that need the extra water movement, but then you'd still need to do more/bigger water changes.

Try to do 25% weekly although sometimes more and occasionally less dependent on time and visible muck. At least 25% every two weeks on my larger tanks is the absolute minimum I do (more often on the littlees) and the fish look happy enough.
