Hi all

Finally got my Aptasia issue sorted with the help of 2 peppermint shrimps, what i have noticed is that they have left a single aptaisa 90% shredded, and gone off in search of other foods.

I tried them on some frozen mussels that i had for my convict ciclids, however they dont like them, i also have frozen blood worm, would they eat this ?

Failing that what other foods can i try them on ?

I also have 2 small red hermits in there.

Cheers guys

Personally I think you'd be better with a sinking pellet food for them. Ones I found particularly good were from ebay. They were made from squid. They fell to the sandbed quickly and softened up easily, so that the shrimps could eat them. I had those and ones made from bloodworm too. They were cheap as well.

All of my shrimp have always been very bold. They come right to the surface to snatch food meant for the fish so i've never had to worry much about them eating. I also have similar pellets as to what AK mentioned, all of crabs and shrimp literally wrestle and fight over them.

Peppermints do tend to be reclusive and intimidated by pretty much all tank inhabitants, often hiding round the back of rock piles etc.

You might want to invest in a length of 15-20mm acrylic tube. Comes in very hand for target feeding pellets and because its transparent, it doesn't tend to phase the critters too much.

I was given a pack of Hikari Marine A food which i was told was ok for inverts, ive just dropped a few in and the peppermints have gone mental for them lol

Also my peppermints tend to harass my hermits lol
