Peppered cory ill!

re: tank lights. In the morning open the curtains or turn the room lights on. Wait 30 minutes or more before turning the tank lights on.

At night turn the room lights on, then turn the tank lights off. Wait 30 minutes or more and then turn the room light off.

You could sit closer to the tank but check the water quality first :)

Most of the time I get home before the lights come on so I turn my lamps on in the room. Though at night the room lights are off before I get up for work.

I will get results soon. The test strip was 0 ammonia and nitrite, just unsure nitrate. But I will also test everything else as well!

Here are a couple of pictures. One is my tank (getting ready to water change) and one a bit further away to show how close my chair is which is just under 5ft.

The tests....will come...I have misplaced my instructions and my color card.....found a nitrate card but I will look up directions for each and do my best.

lol your dog is giving you the evils :)

tank looks fine and in a nice enough spot. Depending on how long you have had the Corydoras, maybe just give them a couple more weeks.

Found a picture of the color chart online so doing my best...lol.

Ph-8.2
Kh-8 (150ish ppm)
Gh-13 (225ish ppm)
Single numbers for gh and kh are the drops I put in.

Ammonia-0
Nitrite-0
Nitrate- 10 (had a card for this one!)

pH might be a bit high but it shouldn't cause them to be nervous. And you are better off leaving the pH alone :)

get some dither fish and see how they go in a couple of weeks :)

If its just the cycle you are waiting for rinse the sponges from your "old" filter in the new tank. Tank will look mucky but should clear in an hour or so. I managed to get my nano fully cycled in 2 weeks by doing just that

its not filters, we're just trying to work out why her Corydoras are nervous and skittish :)

I made him sit for size reference....lol. he's about 47lbs and my other dog is shorter but almost 65lbs. So he moves the floor more....lol.

I've had them for almost 6 months now I think....so I think they have had time to settle.

10 gallon is a bit small to get more fish. This is my quarantine tank that will turn into a home office tank for a betta possibly....that will be a while yet.

But after they move to the 55 when I get it up...I am going to get more settled into quarantine fast as I can. Lol

I have more work to do on my 55 before water is added. This is a 10 gallon and has been cycled for a while.

Yep, exactly. Dang skittish fish...lol.
