ive got a small school of 4 peppered cories in my tank(the 5th one died shortly after i got them, he was small and weak, the others are thriving though which is good)

ive just noticed on one of them its not really "peppered" any more ... they all use to be a whiteish color with black spots on them...

this little guy/girl is mostly black now apart from its under belly..

is this normal or should i be worried... its like his black spotting has grown so hes almost all black.

these are my first cories by the way and i have enjoyed them SO MUCH, cant wait to get more.

thanks

here he is just resting up in one of his spots... he use to be a more grey color all over with little black specs. now hes basically all black... are they suppose to change colors or whats up...?

yes i can go ahead and take some pics and post em up ... my camera is a bit older so it doesnt take the clearest shots but ill go ahead and try... ill be back in a bit with some pics.

Don't worry, that looks perfectly normal.

As said above, some Corys can blend themselves in with the substrate as they grow up. Somehow they seem to develop a chameleonic quality.

My Peppers have darkened and now blend in very well against the Warship in their tank. Even perfectly in focus on a digital photo, they are hard to see.
