Hello Guys

I seem to have bought a prankster!
I have a peppered cory which pretends its dead...even moves with the water with little gill movement....
I fell for it the first time and started the panic and even got the net out to fish it out (no pun intended!) and the bugger swam off!

Is this normal?

I have an air pump going and my other fish dont seem to be struggling at all, although i am treating for ich at the mo.

I have never had mine do that, little comedian you have there eh?

Yeah tell me about it!

Anyone have the same kinda thing happen to theirs??

Yes, I just went through that with my 3 adults but in my case it got serious and they started to swim all funny.

They are now in a hospital tank hopefully recovering from, whatever it is they have/had.

I didn't post this to scare you, but you asked they question.

Keep a close watch on him. If that's all he does then I suppose he's ok.

Good luck and cheers.

I have only seen it with fish who really were sick or frightened. Corys will "play" dead when they get very stressed. They may very well then come around and be fine. But often it is just a first sign of trouble.

I agree: keep a close watch.
