On saturday i brought 12 paleatus cories for only $24CDN and i had $10 credits, so it's about $1 per cory, how could i pass?

well the cories are only around 1.5cm, and is so tiny compared to my sterbais. I have a weird case to discuss. The day i brought them, i saw my corydoras elegans trying to mate with one of my baby peppered cories.

1. Does this mean the cory is a he?
2. Should i buy more elegans cory? since i know he wants to mate?
3. The temperature right now, is 80, because i used to keep discus and angels. I have sterbais, elegans, trillineatus and of course, peppered. What should I set the temp to? i only have those fish and a bunch of guppies.

When you say one of the other species of corys try to mate with the peppered one, can you explain what exactly happened- did you see the clasic "T" position or just lots of chasing about and excitement going on?
Ideally you should have at least 3-4 of every cory species as although they will get along with each other, other species of cory will not be able to give each other the proper social comforts found amoungst corys of the same species.

Recently, i had raised some of my sterbai's fry, and i have witnesses the classic "T" position. It was definatley it. I think i have 3 male elegans cory, because all of them are quite slim looking.

Well thats weird, maybe they are just sex starved  ! Either way though, i dont think they will be able to produce fertile eggs, and as long as the peppered corys dont seem too stressed out by the behaviour, i would just try and see if you can get hold of some female elegans corys see if that helps divert some of the attention  .

I've been feeding them a bit more often..and..i think the cories are now acually 2.2cm without tail... and i've only had them for 5 days.

another thing is that i saw the little cories getting horny :*) it was kinda funny, but they stopped after one of the cories got lost :p

oh well, the elegans cory stopped, not the babies are starting.

I will switch my tank temperature to 75 instead of 80 right now.

I acually arnt supprised that they grew THAT much in 5 days...seems impossible, not even my frys grow that fast
