People Keeping Fish They Don't Know The Name Of?

I always find it funny when people keep, certain species of fish but have no idea what they are!!

Had to when i saw this guys listing for his tropical fish he's selling, take a look and you will see what I mean..

Beautiful fish with lots of personality, although predatory/carnivor fish and grows reasonably large so quite demanding in care when it comes to money.

I just told everyone what type of fish it was .














Anyhoo, plenty of people buy fish they don't know the names of, almost all of us have done that at some point for whatever reasons- its then finding out what type of fish it is asap thats seriously vital- this guy looks like he's had this fish though for a while .

I have never had this problem, but I research on all my fish before I purchase them, making sure I know about its habitat, feeding needs, growth, breeding habbits etc.

Actually, I am a bit rubish at fish names, but I'd find out what it was before I embarrased myself on ebay

If you check my profile I have one listed as a "don't know". I have one odd looking thing that is just known as "Danny", no one knows what he is, the lfs didn't know, we don't know, we just love him and feed him. We believe him to be a mutant as he is really stunted and sort of squashed looking and fat (Danny is named after Danny DeVito).

But we did laugh at Eel fish thing.

(But I get the whole name debacle. Its just odd that some one would sell it, and not know the name. Thats a good way to get in trouble.)
