People From Chicago Or People Who Have Jewel Osco Near Them

then well i put a cup in everday to cycle it and its cycled so ?????

wow you must have tons of bacteria in there....

Seeing that someone else did it and got the opposite effect, im guessing its a bad test.

Once again, I hate to disagree but I just don't see anyway that a tank would cycle with a cup of ammonia every day. After 4 days you would have added 946ml of ammonia. For a 9.5% solution that should have put your ammonia at about 946ppm after 4 days. Even a level of 8 to 10 ppm will usually inhibit bacteria growth for a while as the bacteria are overwhelmed.

Also, there is only 8 cups of ammonia in a 1/2 gallon jug. Most of the ammonia you buy is actually in 32 oz jugs which is 4 cups. Did you use a full bottle in 4 to 8 days and as already asked, did you test the water to know what your levels were and how long did it take to get ammonia and nitrite back to zero? A level of about 40ppm on nitrite takes about 2 weeks to return to zero. I can't imagine a level near 1000ppm.

well i had a giant bottle like huge i think it said a gallon, yeah i tested my water. i think its cuz i have a really powerful filter that has alot, but i started out putting like a little more each day

yeah first it started out a little and it raised the ammonia around 4pm and i waited a few days added more. then i added more and pretty soon i was able to dump a cup load in and within 12 hours it read 0ppm. the test strip did read 8ppm cuz that was the max but i immagine it was a lot more

it was a test strip so it probably wasnt accurate matt....
