Hello,
I have a 150L aquarium with currently 8 fish: 2 penguin tetra and 6 guppies. This aquarium used to be stocked up with guppies but since adding the penguin tetras I do not see any guppy fry.
I am now looking for different fish to add with the penguin tetra. Which fish would cohabit nicely with them? Thank you
Celine

Tetras and Guppies a require two different hardnesses - soft and hard.

If we keep soft water fish in hard water, and vise versa, it can negatively effect their life. It can cause breeding issues, internal issues, how long they live, etc.

How hard is your water?

Thank you for your message. The general hardness of my aquarium is 6. I had guppies for quite a few years and they were breeding before so I assumed my water was good for them.

The first thing you need is more penguin tetras. They are shoaling fish and need to be in a group of at least 6, with more than 6 being better.

Agreed, ALL tetras are social fish, I don't keep them in groups of less than 10...you will observe more natural behavior from them in larger groups, as well
