pearl gouramis

hello all,

could anyone that have had experience with pearl gouramis please tell me things about pearl gouramis cos im gettin a pair(m/f) of them for my 46 gallon. please tell me about their aggressiveness, diet, behaviur.

Pearls are aggressive when they are kept in pairs especially M/F. You should get more than 2 or just have 1. They like lots of places to hide and to swim in. They aren't real big fans of lots of water current. They will eat live food, flake food, frozen food, just about any food. The male makes bubble nests so you will need some kind of a floating plant that he can anchor his nest to. They breed just like bettas do. They are a air breathing fish. My Pearl Gourmis are it the tank as a pair and started off ok but now the male is so aggressive towards the female im getting more to calm him down.

He is also very aggressive to all the other fish in tank, ( except albio cory`s and armoured cat ) but this has become worse as his size increases hes now quite impossible
