Pearl gourami issues

The hiding fish looks to be a male going by the body shape and orange chin though he is still young, could you post another pic of him and post pics of the other two as well? if they have paired they are not going to like this juvenile male hanging about.
They are beautiful fish I have only ever had one, a male, for many years now, he is fully grown and so beautiful and no trouble, but never had his own kind with him!

I think this picture of the younger pearl gourami might be better.

They are all males. The females don't get an orange throat, it stays silver. And their dorsal fin is too long and the anal fin has extensions on the "larger female". They are males. That would be why you are having aggression issues. I would rehome two of them unfortunately and get two actual females.

I am very sad, after looking at more pictures I also think I might be having 3 males. I will post more picture of the 2 I tought that were female just to be sure

Yeah, sorry to say but they are both males. The picture Byron posted shows a female on the bottom.
You can see in this picture (female pearl gourami) that the females are more plump, less colourful and have shorter fins. Then here is another that shows a male and a female.

I agree looks like all male if you can, see if you can take the 2 smaller ones back to the shop and keep the more mature male, he's a stunner!

Can I keep the 2 bigger males or when the smaller of the 2 get more mature they will fight (right now they are pretty much fine with each other)? If I can I would get more females (maybe 3?). I think this is what @Byron suggested when I was planning my tank stocking (2male/3female) but I am not sure. What do you guys think?

2 males and 3 females can work with these guys depending on if that would fit with the rest of your stock. Someone I know elsewhere has this ratio, though that is in a 55 gallon.

The stocking of my 55 gallon will probably be 12 hengeli rasboras, x pearl gourami, 6 aeneus corydoras, 4 of another type of corydoras and a red lizard whiptail.

Don't know how I got it into my head that this was a 40 breeder. So then I have seen a 2:3 ratio work out in a tank of your size. Looks good to me at least.

I have 2 males 3 females, and I'm debating rehoming one of the males as I've seen some sparring between the two males. They were supposed to be 1 male 4 females, but although they were a good size and there were some very obvious males in the shop tank, one of the 'females' was an immature male. I began to suspect this while they were still in the quarantine tank, then 'her' fins grew after they went into the main tank.
My tank is 42 x 18 x 18 inches (a non-standard size as it's custom built). Yours is bigger so you might get away with 2 males.
