Pearl Danio The Movie

looks like a healthy female to me

I dunno... compared to the other one she seems a little fat. Had she just been fed? Did she over-eat? Or is that her normal size?

She has been like that a couple of weeks now (she has always been slightly bigger than the rest). Her behaviour is the same as the others, she doesnt seem to be changing now.

I have another question ... one of my pearl danios has a red streak down its underside, does this mean I have a rose danio instead of a pearl danio ?

then it is quite possible the fish is indeed a D.rosesus
BTW that other guys website is the owner of the one I linked,
and that is Pete Cottle who is the UKs leading authority on Danionins and a regular contributor to PFK.

if you email him (link on strood aquarist) a pic he will tell you for sure,
but I think he is in Burma at the moment searching for new fish, so it maybe a while before he replys.

Thanks for the help.

One last thing, if you took a standard pearl danio and added the reddening bits on the underside ... what would that mean (just in case it isnt D.rosesus), is it possible ?

it could be a hybrid or just a natural colour morph.
I can think of no disease that would cause such a definitive red marking
