heya,

just had to ask someone before i pull all my hair out!

i have 5 pearl danios from looking at photos on the internet i make it 3 females and 2 males, in one 25l breeding tank, (they normally live in an 80l with other community fish).

ADDED:
these fish are about 1 year old.

they have 2 inches of marbles in the bottom, (also tried netting/breeding grid).
no filter (change the water every 2-3 days and test religously from community tank so water is good)
heater with heater guard hidden at 26 degrees.
lots of oxgyenating plant floating on top, so lots of coverage but allows gases out etc...
feed up previously on dthneya, bloodworm and baby brine shrimp before transferring.
no food whilst in breeding tank
really fat as if there about to explode! so i know they have eggs
have springled cold water with like a watering can to simulate rain, (these fish must love me lol)
living in soft water as well.

have breed zebras before easily, what is going on, are these just harder to spawn! urgh

i cant think of anything else atm but there probabily is.

please help :( currently loosing faith in my ability as a fish parent lol

heya,

just cleaned them out and rescued all the bottom of the tank into a large pot, so i wil keep an eye out for wigglers but not holding much hope.

will keep posting although no ones replying, guess no ones come along who knows yet?

I wouldn't have thought you would need to do much to get them to breed, I had 5 danio's and when I cleaned out there tank I found loads of eggs... and that was without trying to spawn them.... the eggs are minute so hard to see and the fry were tiny, much smaller than killi fry that I normally breed.

Why not move the fish you have into another tank and then let their existing tank alone, I bet there are fry/eggs in the tank but the adults could be eating the young as they hatch.
