Peacock Spiny Eels

Hello,

Went into Maidenhead today and they have Spiny peacock eels in tanks with Malawi Cichlids. Just want to make sure that they are compatible long term.

So are they?

No not really, malawi cichlids are best kept in a species tank, spiny eels need a soft substrate and something like a planted tank for best results, cichlids would rip up the plants, and more than likely attack the eel
