Peacock Mantis Help Needed

LMAO. I got my first shock when I was about 8. I stuck a steak knife into an outlet by accident when trying to pry away a "safety" cover that got stuck . Oh irony, how I miss the, let me count the ways

I have knocked my self accross a room before putting up a light in the wet outside in my deffence i didnt think the cables were live at the time i had turned off the circuit breaker but the wrong one

 yeah, same thing happened to me. Turned off the breaker that I thought was the right one while trying to repair a crushed outlet. None of the breakers in my basement are labeled, so I figured it has to be the same as the outlet next to the one that needed to be repaired on the SAME wall. That would have made sense right? Wrong . Pulled the socket out, grabbed the back of it, threw my hand backwards over my head and proceeded to curse my landlord

yeah know the feeling i was cursing the parents at the time who labels a circuit breaker out side (front) when theres 2 for the front and left the other one blank

lol bad ski bad

Well, broke out the diamoned dremmel bit and got the overflow hole drilled and I'm solvent welding the weir as we speak. I had it all the way drilled out, a little rough but I had a big gasket so I wasnt too concerned. Screwed in the bulkhead flange, tightened it down and... Crack . Mercifully the split goes from the top of the hole to the top of the tank. There should be no water up there so long as the overflow functions, so I figued, who cares :). Siliconed the crack up just in case but it shouldnt matter. Once the weir's in I'll post up some pics and probably start the official nano journal thread :D

ooooh snap son snap who said it would crack thats right me

9 outa 10
9outa10 :hooray: :hooray: 8) 8) :cake: :yahoo: :yahoo: :shout:

na but were cool ski :friends:

Good luck though hope that crack dosent cause any broblems.

Lol yeah, it cracked

Whats wierd though it didnt crack when I was drilling it. Didnt happen until I put the bulkhead fitting on. I went through all the trouble of getting out the air regulator and turning on all the massive vents and no glass dust :shifty:

So to recap, drill complete, weir made and siliconed in place, bulkhead in place, and "business end" of overflow complete. Paint drying overnight, pics to follow in the morning. Watch this space and the simulcast in the nano section :D

Well, pics are a little late, but head on over to the Mantis Nano Diary for a few pics of the setup. Enjoy and hope everyone has a happy new year
