My current setup is as follows:

30 Gallon freshwater, no plants except for Mossballs.
Stocking:

1 Peacock Goby
1 Golden Wonder Killifish
2 Bolivian Rams
4 Praecox Neon Rainbows
1 'bumble bee' catfish (actual species unknown)
1 Otto catfish
1 American Flagfish

I was at the fish store yesterday and they had a large sized peacock goby (although labeled 'eye spot sleeper goby', all my research says this is the same as a peacock goby), and I was considering adding it to my tank.

My current peacock is shy, 'she' doesn't bother any of the other fish, and is a little over 1 inch long. I've had her for about 3 months with no problems whatsoever. The peacock in the store is almost 2 inches long, probably as big as my killifish. Would it be a mistake to introduce 'him' into my tank? I love the personality of my current peacock, but I've heard they can be 'grumpy'. I'm wondering if it wouldn't improve the quality of life for my current peacock by giving it a playmate.

I appreciate any feedback you can give.

If your current Peacock Goby is male then add a female, if its female add a male.

Males and Female look completely different, its very simple to sex them. post a picture of your current fish

Okay, here it is. From what I've read, I believe it is a female.

Here is the picture of it.

Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure that's a female. Males have a kind of humped head and females tend to have black edging to some of their fins (but not always).

As far as adding the other goes - i don't see it could do any harm. I have a male and 2 females in my main tank and they get on just fine. they tend to either swim around alone or the girls hang out together!

Cool. I think I'll pick him up today then.

Once you've got it, please take a photo. An eyespot sleeper goby is another name for a Jade goby. Which would eat the other whole.

wouldn't an eyespot sleeper goby be brackish? This goby is kept in a tank with a variety of rainbowfish.

Well it was all moot. He was gone when I went in today to buy him. I suspect he was a 'rehome' because this store normally only carries juvies.
