Peacock Eel Vs Nematode

Since my tank has a couple of peacock eels, I'm thinking they should eat the nematodes? I sure have seen more since I put them in the tank and I was thinking the eels were sticking their noses in the gravel and stiring them up. What do you think? Will the eels eat them>?

They may eat them, but rooting around in gravel will damage their snouts, which can lead to bacterial/fungal infections. Sand is a much better substrate for eels.
