Peacock Eel Feeding

how much do you feed them cause the one i have has been raised on frozen blood worm squares and the person i got it from really didnt feed at anywhere near often enough but would feed it an entire square at a time

Im actually gonna try and find a LFS that sells live food for him tomorrow

Just feed him until he begins to lose interest in the food. You'll know when he's had enough. I have different fish in my tank so I don't know exactly how much food mine get.

i have a peacock eel and i can second what Mr. Fishy is saying. to add on, i feed mine chopped red wiggler earthworms.

thanks for the help guys i am having a little harder of a time trying to find live food for him cause he doesnt come out very often and the previous owner would feed him by sticking a square of frozen blood worms in the gravel and letting him find it

i was told by a pretty reputable LFS in my area that he would eat ghost shrimp so i went out and bought some today and i have to say idk if he likes them but the 3 juvie cichlids that are in the tank with him love them cause i bought ~50 of them and i can only see maybe 20 now and i just turned all of the lights out so maybe mr. peacock will come out soon and find the ghost shrimp and have him a meal

I would imagine it would eat them but they would have to be extremely small and your eel would have to be very large.

Another way I've heard of getting your eel to eat is getting a water bottle or some container where only the eel will fit in and putting food in there. I've never tried it though.
