My mam sold my pony to my next door neighbour last year :-( and she wont buy me a new one coz she sed there too expensive,She said i can have any other pet as long as though i pay for it myself :D (saterday jobs here i come!)and ive decided i like parrots...i prob wnt be getting it for months but
what types do you think is the best
How Much Do they cost to buy
How much do they cost per week(food etc)
I also love budgies-which one parrot or budgie better or cheaper :p

Budgies are much cheaper and easier for beginers.

Parots:

-Need a bit of care.
-Need some attention
-Need care and supervision
-Need adequet space. (alot for some)
-Cost quite a bit if cared for properly

But are a joy to keep with alot of character.

Budgies:

-Cheaper to keep
-Dont need AS much space
-Beautiful call and bird
- and are really nice.

It all depends really. Above was realy broad and rough, but its some ideas to keep in mind. Maybe buy a Parrot and Budgie bok and see what u think.

EDIT: My parrot named "Angel" She is an Australian Pink Galah. i wuv showing her off...... :*)

:D ive been doin some reserch and found cocatiels they look like there in the middle of a parrot and budgie waht are they like?

they are groovie first pets! I wanted some, but they cannot go in with the bird i have now, and i only have the one cage. (but more fish is the next project)

Cockatiels are great pets. I bought one (after doing lots of research!) as an early holiday gift for myself.

Cockatiels need atleast an hour of out of cage time and attention each day. And if they don't get it, they will let you know. Also, if they arne't taken out of their cage every day they can get mean and won't let you handle them any more.

Cockatiel all have different personalities, like any other pet. The females in general tend to be quiter. (Big plus if your a late sleeper, my boy woke me up at 6 this morning!) You can't tell if they are actually a female or male, but females tend to have grey on their faces and not as bright of cheek patches.

As for the price, I bought my cockatiel for $130. I wasn't planning on getting a cockatiel that day, but his personaility was just the best. Now, where I live $130 is over priced for a cockatiel. But, I didn't really care. The cage can also add up to over $100. They need a much larger cage then a budgie.

But, just remember, you get that cockatiel now and you'll have him for the next 20-30 years. So it is a big responsibility. But if you want a great pet and have enough time to care for them, they are great pets. (Just do your homework!)

if your planning on getting a cockateil i'd look for a hand tamed one, they're a bit more money but it would be worth it, you wouldnt hav eto put the months in to train a un tamed one unless you like challenges but be warned they bite extremely hard

Thats what I was trying to remember to post! But, yes, do get a hand tamed one unless you are willing to spend the extra time to get your cockatiel to accept you and bond with you.

And make sure you do your research on whatever bird you choose. Birds can be a lot of work, so know what you are getting into before you buy the bird.

Good Luck, and make sure to post some pics when you get one :)
