ppl say they are deformed and have swim bladder problems and the rest but mine seem to be okay. they swim okay n they feed okay.....they arent died so they havent gone thru any harm....so i dont see the problem with them Tek :fish:
I agree about the dying. And this stuff about the deformed swim bladder is a myth. People who say that about BP swim bladders are comparing the shape to that of a Red Devil's and a Severum's and it isn't normal for either because it is a BP swim bladder. My BPs are quite strong swimmers, they have no problem eating absolutely everything too! :p

but I had one which attacked everything in the tank the moment it hit the water and didn't stop til I removed it, must have taken after daddy.

How can they be aggro? The ones I saw in the lfs's can't even open their mouths. :D

Don't you mean can't close their mouths? If they can't open their mouths they wouldn't last long. They can't put their 'lips' together (many species of fish can't) but they can most certainly close their jaws and bite (if the ones you saw can't then they really ARE deformed and no one should buy deformed fish of any kind). I had to take the convicts out I originally had in my tank with my BPs as the convicts kept trying to attack the BPs and the BPs were tearing them to shreds.

Open close, can't remember. I don't pay them much attention. They are a monstrosity that's hard to look at, imo. I feel sorry for them to tell you the truth.

I can understand them beating the crap out of cons as cons aren't good at fighting but a hybrid parrot isn't a match for a tankbuster.

if there was a muntant fish that I would buy I would have to say that it is the three eyed fish from the simpsons and that is the only one..

lol no, an Oscar isn't a tankbuster.

I mean a blood parrot is no match for a red devil, Midas, jag, mota, istlanum, dovii, umbee among a ton more fish.

Per Africans, a blood parrot is no match for a chipokae or a butti either.

OK, usually by 'tankbuster' people mean BIG fish but true I'd say BPs might have some trouble with all these species you mention - then again so would quite a few other fish, even some cichlids. So I guess I wouldn't mix any of those fish with my blood parrots.

They are kindof cute and they are not mutants (in that they are not the result of gene mutation the one and only requiorment for being a mutant) but dont buy them they are not bred in an ecologicaly sound mannor and they are bad fish they are more prone to health problems (being species that do not breed in the wild) and there temperments are not consistant. You shouldn't buy one and you should tell your LFS not to sell them.
