Parrot Spazzed

One of my last 2 parrots had a serious spazz attack... then died overnight..

It was swimming fine, then it spazzed out of control... it went upside down, and darted into a piece of driftwood, and did a bunch of barrel rolls... all extremely fast... then it was sort of swimming nose down for awhile..

so I moved it to another tank, and it died overnight..

no clue what happened..

I'm down to 1 parrot cichlid.. a little far from the 15 I used to have only 2 months ago.

It probably died from beating itself off of objects in the tank, but as for what caused it to freak out, i have no idea. What other fish were in there with it, could it have been surprised or startled when it saw you enter the room?

No.. was just 2 parrot cichlids.. weirdest thing I've ever seen.

i think this happened to a ram i once had. as far as i know its a medical problem. i think it was wilder who gave me a link to a site decribing the problem. was it on its side flying wildly around the surface uncontrollably?

Nope.. was just swimming around normally... then for no reason whatsoever it swam faster then I've seen a parrot swim, upside down and into a piece of driftwood... then it was swimming weird with its head down a bit.. and it died overnight..

I don't know.. just something I thought I'd share.

Sorry about your poor fish. At least you tried to separate him from whatever was bothering him. But, maybe it was just his time to go...

A sudden flux in PH might have caused the spazzing?

I've only got one parrot cichlid left.
