Just how big do they grow?? Saw this on ebay 160085751246 and it has 3 in and 3 other fish in 15 litres??
I always thought they were big fish

Oh my life just had a look at the page - that's one of the worse I've seen, those poor poor fish

You're right, they do get big - my male's now 5-6", and only got him last August as a bubba.

bloody hell that is bad poor fish sometimes i feel like just bidding on things like this just to give them the right home but i realy cant as the space is at it limit here

 some people should't be allowed animals before anything i buy i always do research before hand i just don't beleve some people!

I know I shouldnt but I emailed her and asked if she knew how big the fish would get and she was really quite rude, saying Im obviously not interested and she had got some very good advice when she bought the fish, i apologised and said wasnt meaning to be rude and she replied NO NOT RUDE AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ever wonder if people post these awful conditions on ebay to get pity bids...

well, I dont know, but she didnt like me mailing her, all I said was I am just learning about fish and they grow quite large and was she aware of it! Thing is if you did buy it you would have to rehouse the fish immediately anyway.

So because they might have been told the fish can be kept in this tank they can't own animals? Educate not persecute.

Also, parrots get around 6" or so I've been told..

Parrotfish are man made freaks... why oh why do you persist in buying & keeping them? Are you aware of the torture these animals go through. Have you seen "Heart-Shaped" Parrots where they cut the tail off to deliberately produce a deformed fish...? What is wrong with you all... aren't there enough naturally beautiful fish to keep you interested in the hobby?

what's wrong with you INSIDE INFO.

did he say these were bleeding heart parrots? Did he say they were multicolored?

How do you feel about dogs? look at a pug or a wiener dog or a german shepard. They all have genetic problems because of what we've done to them. I personally don't like blood parrots but they are not that bad. They have some problems with there mouths but otherwise are ok physically. If the fish was suffering or couldn't eat because of the deformation, I could see your argument if not your method of making it but this person probably didn't even know that the parrot was a hybrid until you attacked them about it. So learn a bit of tact. blood parrots aren't the best fish to make this argument against you with but how do you feel about jellybean parrots (blood parrot X pink convict crosses not dyed bloods) They are hardier and healthier than many "natural" fish.

K, your post was very rude and inconsiderate. These fish deserve life, even though they may be freaks. It's something you have to deal with. It is not the fishes fault that it isn't natural. Sure there are enough naturally beautiful fish, but whats wrong with keeping an odd fish now and then? Just because you have 1 odd fish doesn't mean you hate natural ones, maybe just something different or unique and easier to come by.

well, everyone has different views but you've got something mixed up here - I think you'll find that everyone here (apart from the odd spammer) hates dyed/mutilated fish. A fair few probably don't agree with hybrids but then again, there is a seperate forum for them.
