Parrot Fish

I dont think he said they were related, but either way I dont want them as if they are parrots (and not pink convicts) they must be jellybeans, which are too small.

Anyhoo, as per message on the BP forum, looks like we might have two sorted. If not, we're going to see if there's any in Leeds when Mick picks up the royal plec, if not, then we'll get a couple from Trimar no doubt.

Mick really wants this pair from Bradford, I hope it comes off ok - although at £50 it's pushing our purse strings a bit (tried to sell the seller my rottkeils and even he didn't seem interested LOL, or in my rainbow cichlid pair *shucks*).

they do have some nice BP's at paws for thought, also I may possibly need to re-home mine in the next few weeks. Her and Oscar are fighting and if it doesn't calm down or I can't re-arrange our tanks to accomodate her elsewhere she'll need to be re-homed (or Oscar, although I suspect it will be easier to find a home for her)

and also just to jump in on this thread cos it's on the same topic... general consensus is that parrots may eat anything that fits in they're mouth but aren't too bad bullies to smaller fish?? just looking at options for moving polly to another tank.

Sorry to hear about Polly and your oscar - I hope for you that they sort out their differences and become friends again - shall keep my fingers crossed :good:

Our two parrots have arrived, they're beeeeeeeee-yooooooooo-tiful *ahem* not that I'm a parrot fan or anything (well, ok, I am now!). They're exploring the tank, and no signs of aggression or anything - they've been sharing food with the others just fine :)

The man who brought them also brought me two baby (what he thinks are) jack dempseys, obviously as they can be more aggro I've put them in my 2ft quarantine until I decide what to do with them (they were a surprise freebie lol). So I got two parrots, two possible dempseys and a big tub of cichlid food for £50 - not a bad do :) God knows what I'll do with the dempseys though - but they're only an inch or so now, so they'll be ok in the 2ft for now. If anyone wants them, give me a shout! Unless you think one would be ok with the parrots when he's bigger - or would he be too arsey? :dunno:

Wish I could get pics, best I can do is the advert pic - the oranger one is the male, the yellow is the female - she's a lot bigger than him, probably about 6-7" - and they're only about 8 months old so they might grow more yet perhaps?

Thanks - the pics dont do them much justice (the white patch on the male isn't actually on him, it's on the tank - you can see when you zoom in), they're really bright, fat and healthy - their eyes are like big sequins, they're gorgeous! I got these for Mick, but they've grown on me a lot :D

Glad you got them they look good. Can you get pics of the JD's? My mate has a JD with his parrot with no problems and I keep 2 electric blue JD with my KKxSyn fry with no problems either.

I cant I'm afraid, no camera after slight accident involving a large body of water.

I've looked up pics of JD babies, and they're identical, so I'm pretty sure they are JDs. They're a bit raggedy in a "my tank mates have been nipping at me" kind of way, but they're getting sparkly and they're bright eyed and they eat like piranhas
