Ok, this may sound kind of weird, but I want to start breeding bettas, but I don't know how to ask  ! I would really LOVE for them to say yes!!!!(I said it was kinda' weird.... :))

LOl

Say........Its a task where I will learn to be responsable, carking and determend.....

Also say u could sel the fish and be rich ;)

Avoid any talk of how much room it takes up. That is important.

Also, like already mentioned... talk about making money on the fry.

I find that saying you could be spending money on drugs instead of fish works well. :p

LOL! Thanx, those are great ideas!! Ya, my mom is big about the space.... She already says I have too much stuff in my room....

You could impress upon her the importance of hands on learning experience in science. It is a great learning experience about mating behaviors and rituals of bettas and also can serve as quick foray into the complex world of genetics.

All good things!

Well, for me to have my fish at all i had to do a lot of persuading! There was "too much stuff" in my room too (mostly sheet music and school stuff) so i just thinned out all my belongings. Fish are much better than most the junk i had :) I have a box room too, but i've decided when i want to breed i will put some more shelves up :fun:

If i were you i would write down a list of everything you will need and a plan of what your going to do to show them your responsible. If you are really serious you'll have to sacrifice some stuffage too!

Good luck, iv got my fingers crossed for you!

Shelves are good... I have almost no floor space!! :S Thx, everyone!!! :D

:-( :-( :-( They said no. My mom said no. she said I already had "too many responsibilities"  :-( :-( :-( :-( :( :X :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

aww well dont give up...try to do some extra chores...make sure your rooms extra clean...suggest helping with dinner....eventually theyll get the point on how serious you are...

Maybe give your mother flowers and offer to do the dishes and help your dad change the oil in the car or something like that, and, of corse, keep you room spotless. I think most parents would be willing to give in a lot if they never have to tell you to clean you room. :)

As a mother of three boys, I agree---it's worth a LOT if you keep your room clean all on your own!
