Very nice pics Julie! Thanks for sharing! It's nice to see some of your not-well-known bettas. I epecially love those falx...that female seems like a riot!
One question,
If I wanted a betta, would I need a heater for my 2 gallon hex tank??? I usually don't see heaters in your tanks or wuvs??? Is it okay to have them without one??? )
Also, I heard that bettas don't really like filtration.......is this true Oh Master???
Sorry for all the questions, but I think I'm catching the........eh-hem.....
BAHAHAHA! Silver is coming over to the other side!!! *grins evilly*
As far as heating and filtration, there are quite a few differing opinions. Heating really depends on how warm your house is. If it stays in the "acceptable" range (mid seventies+), you don't really need a heater unless you want one. Heating can be handy, since it keeps the temperature constant, which is healthier for the fish. However, a 2 gallon is a little risky for heating, though you could probably get away with it.
Filtration is also your choice. I only filter my larger tanks, as I do 50% changes twice weekly on the smaller ones. Some bettas really hate filtration, and others don't mind it at all. If you decide to get a filter, just get one that is adjustable, like an Azoo Palm filter, or a Whisper Mini.
