Paradise fish

I've seen that most posters here tend to keep the "standard" fishes from where I'm at. I'm curious if anyone has had any knowledge or experience with Macropodus opercularis? (Paradise fish) I've seen one poor example (at a lfs) and was intrigued by the color and body style. They look like they would fit real nice in an unused 20 gal that i have.
