Paradise Fish

hi i have already said in another thread about the big bucket thing have to set up outdoors now i intend to stock it with sticklebacks but im looking at a few other options aswell and i had a good idea.
Now having read countless times of how hardy paradise fish are and that i wondered if i added a small heater to the tub would they be able to live outdoors? or would the oudoor wind and rain just be to much for them?

During the summer they would probably be ok, but I wouldnt risk the winter, even with a heater.
