Anyone heard of panda khuli loaches? I was in the FS today and they were selling them for £4. They had a label above saying they were a new species and they were mostly grey/browny colour. with faint black and white faces. So cute.

Dont know anything about them but i saw some at my lfs the other week too. Looked as you described but were shorter than the others. Perhaps younger than all the other kulhi's? i dunno...

My first thought when I saw the title of the thread was Schistura pridii, but as well as the black/white heads, they have obvious black markings/bars on the body. I noticed these were on a few stock lists right now. A very slender Schistura which could easily be mistaken for Kuhli type thing.

No, they are actually Kuhlis, a species close to P.oblonga.

I presume so. When I was there they were swimming at the front of the tank like crazy.

I wish I had bought some now. When I next go maybe. :)

Do they grow to the same length as a normal kuhli? Same behaviour?

It appears that they are smaller than "normal" P.oblonga and also more outgoing.
(and notice that P.oblonga is already smaller and more active than a common striped Kuhli).

I've had six of these for about month I was also told they related to P.oblonga & yes they're definitely more out going than normal Khullies, a real joy to watch. They’ve never hidden once, they are absolutely everywhere climbing plants, rocks right up to just below the surface, they just don't stop.
