Hello

I purchased four Pandas and two Bronze corys. I have a lot of plastic plants caves etc and sand substrate as my Tinfoil Barbs eat everything.

My corys very rarley are seen they seem to hide all day and i have also noticed one has gone(presume eaten )

Is it possible they are scared of the Tinfoils which are about 5".

All my stats are good

Ph 7.00
Amm 0
Nit 0
Nitrate 40-50ppm

Thanks.

Not only is it possible but very likely. Tinfoil barbs are very fast and aggressive with smaller fish and would keep the Panda cories swimming for their life. The only barbs I would keep with cories would be Rosey barbs or Clowns which are not small but are at least not aggressive.

Would it be better to return the corys or will they settle given time?

Thanks.

I would buy more corys. I had the same problem. I bought them some friends and yay! They were swimming around playing! I'd get atleast 3 more pandas and 5 more bronze. It may seem like a lot, but it's not. :)

Chibi,

If I buy more will they feel more secure and come out from hiding or will the Tinfoils not bother them if there is so many?

The five sit static for most of the day hiding behind some plastic plants, then they rake the surface for a few mins till the tinfoils see them then they dart back into cover.

Thanks.
