Panda Cories

Cheers inchy,

What other meds do you use?

Besides the "fix" range

as i` starting my first tank and i`m sure that something is going to go wrong eventualy so i want to get stocked up

the cory i was suspect about looked like he had a small deformation (not a white spot) in the top right.. i then saw him swim out into the sand and start rubbing the opposite side on the sand.. the other side with what i could now see looked like a couple of sore spots started to weep a little blood?

Hi Squid,

It sounds like your little fellow has a bacterial infection that is quite advanced. I would suggest either getting him into a quarantine tank right away, or doing a good water change and bottom vacuuming in the main tank. Then get started treating him with the Myxazin right away. Time is important here.

Myxazin is a good medication and is one of the ones I recommend to members who live in the UK. It would also be good if you make sure that the temperature is kept at 75 degrees F. or lower and that there is very good water circulation for oxygenation of the water.

Good luck with him. Please let me know how he makes out.

Thanks inchworm...

He's sitting in his hospital tank right now.. Hes was still alive and kicking this morning. So, i will see how he is later and add the second lot of med..

Cheers
Squid

I thought that I had lost 2 out of my 3 pandas however when doing a water change last night 2 of them popped and out started chasing each other round. :D Now they won't stop showing off!!

Looks like they may have settled in ok after all. Water tests have remained solid with 0 ammonia, 0.25 nitrite and 5 nitrate.

Got another surprise when they came out as a tiny thing flew across my eyeline and then hid under some plastic ferns. Seems like the one of the 2 guppy females I got at the weekend came with some stowaways. One looks like she is ready to burst so more fry on the way by the loks of it.
