Yes, my LFs has them. They come from india, and may well be in my next tank.

To be honest, they look SO much better in their natural state.

In the UK, you could probably report the LFS to their trade body, OATA, for bad stocking practise.

I know how you feel and I believe you can; some do survive. The problem is, if you buy them you are in fact encouraging the shop to get in some more "because they sell". And this encourages the practice of dyeing. The only thing that will stop shops ordering them is if they can't get them sold. But it does feel hard on the individual fish. It's a debate that comes up from time to time, both about dyed fish and about badly kept bettas. My inclination would be to be cruel to be kind, that is not to buy and to inform the shop (if at all possible) that you will not be shopping there until they change their policy.

which painted glass fish are you enquireing about;
Kryptopterus bicirrhis, Parambassis ranga or some other unfortunate fish?

We have both in stock at work and both are in their natural state.

It's the type with a colored stipe on the top of there body, I see them if they can't sell them that they lose the strip and are just glass fish. sorry don't know the specific name. They just sell them as painted glassfish or two color painted glass fish and three color painted glassfish.

I got a letter Friday from my mp saying that he is goin to pass my inforamtion on and get back to me

I have normal glass fish and they are great little creatures, people say they must be in groups but i have had mine for a long time and he has his own little cave and very happy, there is a topic on glass fish to write to your mp to stop this, i have posted to two mps and got a replie from one, dont encourage the selling of these fish it is nothing but cruel
