ok i know i finally stuck to my plan guys! :p

i already posted something like this and u guys sed it would be ok but i think a few things changed...? B)

20gl.
4 white clouds
6 danios (zebra)
5 black skirt tetras
and 3 rosy barbs...

the dude at the lps was giving me crap cuz im only 13 but i prolly knew WAY more about fish then he did, hes like "well i cant garentee that those fish will survive cuz the over polution/population" and its like i have maybe 1-2 fish overcrouded! :look: what do u guys think...am i overcrouded?

thanks a bunch

yep. get rid of any one of those schools and you'll be fine then.

think of it this way: you have 18 fish, with an average length of 2 inches. that's 36 inches of fish, nearly twice the recommended capacity for a 20 gallon community. the dude was right -- you are overcrowded.

also, is this a brand-new tank? unless you fishless cycled, then you're putting way too much initial bioload in there. you're almost guaranteed to lose a few fish that way until the beneficial bacteria levels catch up.

i'd replace all 6 danios with 2 more rosy barbs.

i stand corrected, cluttery! i looked in my atlas and the rosy barb info says they can reach 15 cm (~6 inches) although they are rarely seen at this size.

danios: ~6 cm, 2.5 inches
w. clouds: ~4 cm, 1.5 inches
b. skirts: ~5 cm, 2 inches in the aquarium

yeah maybe i could put the barbs in the 30gl. or sumtihng...i will wait til they are fully grown tho since there is only 3 of em, and i might wait for more replies or sumthin, dunno

thanks in advance

again, it depends on the footprint. if its a 20 high, i'd get rid of the danios simply because they need a lot of lateral swimming space. if its a 20 long, i'd get rid of the rosy barbs since they could potentially get quite large.

the list definitely needs to be pared down a bit.

its just a regular 20 not high not long its one of those started kits *by the way those are like really cheap cuz they come with everything! nice!!!! just tellin ya* but yah i might just take the rosies to the 30gl. and raise maybe like 1-2 white clouds

sumthin like that i will keep ya posted

ok well my 10gl. is un-stocked right now, i guess i can give up the whole betta duplex idea lol, but would only 3 rosy barbs fit in a 10gl.? cuz i think they are rough playing with my other fish and they are mostly smaller then they are, so i was thinking maybe 3 rosy barbs and some bottom feeders, shrimp snails ect...so 3 rosies+10gl.?

thanks

i suppose that would work but from my experience with rosies they are just as active or more active than tiger barbs and danios, thus thriving in at least a 20 gallong LONG tank

No, don't put rosies in a 10 gallon. I've never seen them grow to 6" but I've seen plenty at 4" so, even without considering activity levels, that would mean you are over-stocked.

I should also mention that I've seen zebra danios grow to 2" at most, usualy 1.5", I've never seen them at as big as 2.5". But I have seen black skirts at almost 3".

Regardless, I'd stick to the white clouds, danios and black skirts in the 20 and get bettas for the 10. If you ever get a bigger tank, then think about the rosies.

In that case, keep the rosies in the 20 and miss out the black skirts - unless you already have all those fish you listed?

yeah i already have them, maybe the 4 white clouds, and the betta in the 10gl.?

That could work, yes - but you'll only be a able to keep a single betta.
