both the top and bottom pictures are of the same fish but still, I remember the auratus, so I think that is right...

Either way, if I add a wack of Mbuna will this fish cause a lot of issues for me?

My walmart doesnt sell African Cichlids probably a good thing I went there today and i always go and check the fish just to look and it was awfull today i seen 3 angels in one tank dying and i probably seen at least another 8 dead fish all together and what mad me mad the most was when i told someone they didnt care said ill get to it when i can it was like umm ok u work the pet department and your going to let dead fish just sit in the tank who knows what cause of death was but if it was a parasite or something then most likely all other fish will get it to due to the fact that all walmarts smaller tanks are actaully ran off one big filter so each tank shares same water quit sad actually.

Well, mine does have melanochromis, because I got one there! hahaha! also it has yellow labs.... A whole bunch of new world cichlids, Oscars, Firemouths, convicts, Etc.... but I'm having some trouble remembering the names of the others..... I know there are some more mbunas.... zebras?? does that sound right... I remember some orange/red and some cobalt blues.. not overly sure but they have a pretty good selection....

ok well clearly I am not the expert.....! hahaha! so this one is up to you guys here on the forum. I just got some $$$$ and I think i'll get the 55g

so here you go, YOU get to make my stocking list! Que in exciting music!

if anyone wants to.... then just write down what to put in and we are good to go....
keep in mind, I already have a smaller (3-4") plec in another tank and I will move it over... and also I will have my melanochromis in there....
I really love the bright colors of the Africans and I have been keeping fish for quite some time now, so this doesn't have to be to beginner... just a nice set up
