I have some tropical fish food which is out of date - how risky is it to feed to my fish? Its flake food, about 1 year out of date, but it looks fine.

if there is no smell to it (caused by water getting into the container- sort of a nutty smell), then it shouldn't poison your fish, but it may be very low in nutrients, so wont be good for a staple food.
if you have lots of other foods, and just want to use it to avoid wasting it (but can still provide other high nutrient food) you should be ok, but then again, if you have lots of other foods, why bother using a low value one?
if in doubt, chuck it out.

Hi blu187 :)

If the package hasn't been opened and exposed to dampness, or stored in a very warm place, it would probably be alright to use. If you have any doubts at all about it, just toss it away. Food is not so expensive that it's worth taking a chance by feeding your fish less then the best source of nutrition you can find.
