Our cat Fatty aka Zipper isn't doing well at all.
A little bit ago, we started noticing that she was peeing on the furniture. This isn't new though, just not common. So we cleaned it up as best we could, but then started noticing that she in fact had blood in her urine.
Today, she's just been so weak and dribbling urine where she's been laying.
So we're finally able to take her to the vet... we had to leave her there for a few hours so they could do tests.
Come to find out, our poor girl was dehydrated, extremely constipated.. AND she's suffering from bladder stones that can only be removed surgically, but only when she's better.

We had the option of letting them take her to the animal hospital for care, but we don't have enough money for that right now, so we brought her home after they hydrated her, gave her something to help her poop and some antibiotics just in case she has an infection.

Well we have her in the bathroom so we can keep an eye on her better and see if she's pooping or not, and our poor girl just is not in good shape at all. She's SO weak that she barely moves.
She's pooping a little bit, but there's blood coming out with it as well. Fiance says this is common in people if they were constipated really bad, but ya know, who knows with a cat :(

I and I know fiance just feels so helpless right now. He's gone to sleep since he has to work tomorrow, so I'm checking on her every once in a while to clean her butt off some.....
I really hope she pulls through this and gets well enough so we can get that surgery for her. :-(

Thats terrible, my best wishes and prayers go out to your cat. hope all goes well...

I think we just watched her die this morning........
Fiance woke up for work as usual, next thing I know, he's waking me up b/c she's not looking good at all.
He's taking her to the animal hospital right now......
I won't go into the details, but I think... no I know that we just watched her die before he left... he still took her though.. i guess hoping that we're both wrong. :-(

I just don't understand why she crashed so fast though. When we took her in yesterday.. yeah she was a bit weak b/c of the dehydration and constipation, but she was still moving and responsive... and then we bring her home and BOOM.. she gets so much worse so quickly.

I'm just waiting for him to come home now from the a-hospital... I already know what he's gonna say...... our poor Fatty :(

if you are right (i hope you are not) i'm very sorry for your loss :(

Well fiance got home and confirmed what we both already knew. She had passed........

I'll post about her in the rainbow bridge stickied thread...

RIP our sweet little Fatty...... RIP...................

This is the only pic I have of her uploaded on the net... wish it was better, but she was a very timid cat that liked her privacy..... heh....... *sigh*... :(

Here are 2 more pics of her that were also uploaded.. they were just hiding in a different folder...

In her fav room. Nice and quiet with lots of hiding places to sleep.

And this is one of her outside with Cid crawling all over her. She wasn't an outdoor cat, but we let her and our other cat Stewie just outside so they could chew on some grass (supervised of course).
She of course didn't like Cid to climb all over her, but she tolerated it for a short while hehe

Im so sorry Amunet, I just read this thread, I really hope you and your family feel better, thats a very hard loss.

RIP Fatty.

Best Regards,

Drew

Thanks you 2...
This whole thing is just very hard b/c it happened so unexpectedly.
The vet we took her to even called and said as much. Just no one expected her to crash so quickly for really no apparent reason. Poor girl... I guess she was in more pain than any of us realized and just couldn't take it anymore :(

Well we buried her in the backyard. I put some flower seeds on the spot, but not sure if they'll grow since it's getting cooler. I'll do it when spring comes around though.

Hi Amunet,

I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. RIP, Zipper. :rip:

I know it doesn`t help with the fact that you lost her, but going down hill fast and passing away is a blessing rather than her suffering for a long time before that. This way your memories of her are happy and that she had a good life until the very end.
Like I say, doesn`t help with your grief right now but all I can say is that our thoughts are with you.
