Our First Dog

will have to get her out to some classes.
i work on a scrapyard and she just wanders around from the workshop to the office (food and water) and we must have 50 different people come each day and she just sniffs at them and ignores them, but if people go to touch her she runs off.
quite wierd.

DDB's are lovely but slobber every where and love to chew. They are strong dogs, so I would say that if she starts pulling more than usual, I would try getting her in obedience classes. DDB's get rather possesive of an owner, pref the same sex owner. Give her a lot of her own things to chew and try to train her as early as you can.

They make fabulous additions but their nature, doopy as it can be  can destroy a house in no time.

I had a DDB for 6 months, was a foster, good job that none of my stuff was brand new! lol

wow I love these dogs a good friend of mine has 2 :good:

as beth said his dogs only like women for some reason cant think why

i would have nominated the pics as well they are cracking :hey:

regards scot :)

thanks for the comments guys.
in terms of chewing things she now destroys a tennis ball in a minute but does not (hasnt) touched anything.
she does go to the washing basket and fetch slober towels and licks/sucks on them till they are dripping. she also likes to clean her feet and also chew her own nails.

took her into pets at home tinight and she was wary but not as wary as last time and also some woman stroked her :D

Believe me, she will devour furniture in no time

DDB's are the type that, if you give an inch they will take 500 miles, it's very important that this breed of dog isn't given the chance to become bored. Mind you, from experiences with friend's dogs, the males are more destructive, compared to females.

She is gorgeous, you HAVE TO post update pics of her every week lol

Well she is absolutely stunning :)

Oh and POTM for picture 1

extremely sorry to hear about Rex, hope you get another dog soon.
i cant believe how she has just become part of day to day life and how she just gets in the car with me and of to work we go. she got told of today for chasing a chicken at my grandads farm, luckily she didnt catch it. (the chicken jumped on her back first) so not entirley her fault but i cant have her chasing the chickens as my grandad would kill me.

and we will keep uploading pics to show progress. (hopefull she will put weight on every week also.

thanks for all the comments
