thanks for the comments
just glad to give her the home she deserves absoloutly brilliant on and of the lead its just she doesnt like peoiple backing her into a corner.

I would really advise taking her to some puppy/socialisation classes if you get a chance. This breed is quite well known for become fearful, agressive or fearful agressive if not socialised properly. Congratulations on rescuing a dog, and she looks absolutely adorable... but if you're saying she's come with what sounds like socialisation issues (ie. whoever first had her probably just bought her and kept her in a house where she probably rarely saw anyone other than family members), then it's definitely a problem worth tackling.

she comes to work with me and is always out and about. very good with other dogs and not to bad with women, but does not like men as much. (takes longer to introduce)
at first she did not like going in pets at home but now she is great.
its taking time but she has come on so much recently.

Hehe, sorry. I was nominating picture number 1 for the pet of the month competition. Now all you need is another person to nominate her and you can post the image on this months pet of the month competition thread. :)

ahh i didnt know that will have to have a look for that.
thanks again :D

a mate of mine has one of thes edogs that she rescued. It cost her a fortune in vets fees to correct the previous owners neglect with a skin condition but at 3 she is stunning now. My bassett stays with herwhen we;re away and they really do love each otehrs company. Its so cute

they look better with age stunning dogs!! well done

I am totally with Curiosity on this one and the key word in what she is saying is socialisation.... Living with "people"...and not exclussively with the family... if friends visit... let them talk & touch.... expose her as much as is possible to strangers and not get possessive over one particular person or enclosed group of persons.... They are wonderful animals, but must be allowed to be everyone's friend, or they turn out to be grumpy and distrusting. I've had a few of ém in the kennels (during my SPCA years)....To sum it up, they must show confidence in mixed company.

(Oh!.... & by the way... I second that nomination for the POTM competition).... Pet of the month -

in regards to the skin issues she seemed to have a crusty nose but its nearly all gone now and looking better every day.
thanks for the potm votes i will enter with picture one
thanks again
